Smart Tea Innovation

Technology Behind Traditional Tea

My research explores how sensing technology, data analysis and artificial intelligence can support tea processing and quality understanding.

01

VOC Monitoring

Observing changes in volatile signals during tea processing under real production conditions.

02

Tea Processing Data Collection

Recording environmental parameters and visual changes to create traceable process data.

03

AI-assisted Analysis

Exploring how data analysis and AI tools may support interpretation, comparison and future decision-making.

Current practice

From laboratory questions to tea-factory testing.

A tea processing parameter collection system has been tested in a real production environment. It records aroma-related sensor signals, temperature, humidity and leaf images to support process review and future research.

This work remains in research and field-testing stages. It is not presented as a commercial product or a completed industrial deployment.

Why it matters

Data can help make experience visible—not replace the people who hold it.

Traditional tea processing depends on skilled sensory judgment. Sensing and data tools may help record process changes, compare batches and make learning more traceable. The research question is how technology can support practitioners while respecting the complexity of craft.
